American Doorstop Project

The American Doorstop Project preserves and promotes historical places, spaces and events that have shaped our country over the past hundreds of years. This collection of stories were instrumental in shaping America’s agricultural roots and had they not happened, America, as we know it, would be different than it is today. We celebrate the Agrarian Discipline, which dates back to the founding of our country and is best modeled by one of America’s original farmers, George Washington, who stated, “America needed many successful farmers in order to grow into a successful nation.”

The stories we are poised and ready to share come from a deep understanding and appreciation for our own heritage; and a desire to learn more about others and to help tell their stories. Time is of the essence as many of these stories have not been comprehensively recorded, archived or passed on as generations become even further removed from their ancestors’ roots and homesteads.
